Preventive Maintenance Plan and its Types

Preventive Maintenance Plan is the maintenance is performed on parts of equipment while it is failing .when it is performed up to equipment working while it is not suddenly broken down. Preventive maintenance planning without the help of CMMS(Computerized maintenance management system ) software can be a huge challenge. Since Preventive Maintenance is triggered after a kind amount of time, it is very tough to track that data normally, especially when we are dealing with many pieces of critical equipment/big equipment. Maintenance software allows you to set Preventive Maintenance according to the triggers that are appropriate for each piece of equipment. Once the triggers occur, a work order will be created.

Types of the preventive maintenance plan:

Time-Based Maintenance (TBM):

Time-Based Maintenance is the type of preventive maintenance and it refers to keeping a product to restore its capacity at a constant time, the period of its condition. The main purpose of this system is to protect the equipment from damaged parts. This system assumes that equipment failure is related and total life of the equipment can find it. The effort to assess the condition and a time-based replacement are more economical and still effective.

Failure Finding Maintenance (FFM):

This is another type of maintenance. The purpose when the equipment has been related to the failure section at that time only is working. In operating conditions we can’t find the equipment is working is it is the failure.

Risk-Based Maintenance (RBM):

Risk-Based Maintenance is more effectvily in Preventive Maintenance PlanWhen the activities is continuously at that time frequency and scope of the maintenance is optimized based on the findings from testing or inspection and a thorough risk assessment. Risk-Based Maintenance would be Risk Based Inspection as applied to equipment like vessels and piping.

Condition Based Maintenance (CBM):

Most of the pieces of equipment in failure situation it gives some warning sounds then still it is working process. If anyone can find that warning we can easily prevent that warning or completely avoiding that warning we can protect our equipment. This system looks for physical evidence of that failure condition. This system showing the interior failure parts warning even though it is in operating conditions.

Advantages of Preventive Maintenance:

Preventive Maintenance Plan is the major advantage of its program over fewer strategies. They are not planned, reactive maintenance has many costs should be removed during the process planning. The cost of failure types of equipment, and its parts of that cost is very high while equipment is not working also.compare to normal types of equipment cost is less than the failure equipment cost. Then we have to do precisely the equipment cost.

Equipment can be suddenly down to coincide with operation time. shutdown, any required parts, supplies can be together to minimize the time taken for a repair that part. These processes minimize the total cost of the maintenance. Safety is also improved because equipment parts break down less often than in less complex strategies.

Benefits of Preventive Maintenance Plan

  • Lower Your Maintenance Costs
  • Improve Useful Equipment Life
  • Increased Productivity
  • Increase Residual Values
  • Enhance Facility Safety
